Google is rolling out new email notification preferences in AdSense account, to let you receive specific messages like event invitations, information about webinars, and personalized account suggestions from AdSense team. You’ll be prompted with a one-time interstitial page after you sign in, which will ask you to select the types of messages you’d like to receive. To roll back to email preferences, just sign in to your account and visit the Contact Preferences section of your Account Settings page to update the types of emails you want to receive.

April Fool’s joke: gBall

by teamgpt April 9, 2001
written by teamgpt

This weekend around the country, the gBall(BETA) will change Australian rules football as we know it.

Building on our core strength in search, Google was approached by a number of Australian rules football leagues to apply our technology in their search for new talent. In response, Google, in partnership with the official supplier of matchballs to the AFL, Sherrin, has developed the gBall. Incorporating specially developed Google technology, it will be used in all school and amateur competitions – and will go on sale to the public – this weekend.

The gBall at a glance:

  • Weighs an extra 107g
  • Extra 35.8mm in diameter
  • Kicks are automatically measured using special in-built equipment
  • You get personalised online kicking tips and suggestions, based on kicking data
  • gBall vibrates if player agents or talent scouts want to speak to you
  • Find your lost gBall online using Google Maps

As an added bonus, anyone who misplaces his or her gBall will be able to search Google Maps to locate it.

How to: Track Facebook Pages with Google Analytics

by teamgpt March 10, 2001
written by teamgpt

Now that Google indexes the updates from the Facebook fan pages, surely many companies would start to show promotional support to advertise on the Facebook fan page and track the converisations and all that can’t be easy without the help of the search engine giant..
facebook page
If you ever wanted to track your Facebook Fan page visits with the conversations on your site? Here is a way… a post from web design company UK, tells how to incorporate this web analytics tool on our Facebook page and thus have another source that counted visits, keywords etc …

For these steps to work Google Analytics needs to be included as an image rather than as a JavaScript code. Since Facebook doesn’t support\allow users to add JavaScript to the pages.

Here is how to convert the javascript to the image format:

1. Create a new profile in Google analytics for a Facebook fan page. You can call or facebook.com or facebook.com / [name]. Get the code from Google analytics in this format UA-3123123-2

2. Visit the site http://ga.webdigi.co.uk/ and generate HTML-IMG tag code needed for EACH page you wish to track.

3. Add the HTML IMG tag at the bottom of Facebook pages to crawl.

Update – 08\03\10: Lots of People are asking me on how to add the HTML IMG tag at the facebook pages on Step 3. Here is how:

– You need to add an application called Static FBML to your Facebook Page first.
– Then it would show in your Facebook Pages’ Editing section
– Now click on ‘Edit’ below FBML section and add the IMG tag (Here is the example page)

That’s all you have to do, since then, many more systems to include this service on Facebook, but this may be the simplest. If this article helped you, feel free to become a fan on the mypassion page on Facebook.

by teamgpt March 10, 2001
written by teamgpt

According to Softpedia, the Internet giant Google will undergo and usher the most significant revision in the history. As we all know, Google home pages has not changed much for a long time. This time, Google engineers and web designers spend a lot of effort to edit the home page to make it look better and load faster.

Here are the suspected – leaked screenshots of the new Google home page. The pictures show that the settings and more Google options have been removed. The Google logo is more vivid than compared to the current Google home page.
The new – future Google search page is divided into three major sections. Google Labs has developed real-time search, personalized filter settings and so on will be provided to users. The right side of search results ranked in the top of the page, the user can select the drop-down menu options or modify the local information.
