This is interesting…. Hidden Easter egg, on the Google search results page. Try searching for ascii art on the Google search page and you would see a hidden ascii art styled Google logo instead of the normal logo.

google sites
Google has released an update for Google Sites. From now on you can copy the settings of an entire Google Sites. This way you can work with different groups in similar sites.

The “recent announcement” gadget is also got an upgrade today, so we not have more control over how much text is shown in the post summary. You can even show the full post content which is useful for putting a “word of the day” or “photo of the day” on the site home page. You can also configure the gadget to show a thumbnail of the first photo in the post. External search providers can also be used such as a Custom Search Engine or a Google Search Appliance.

Read the Google apps blog post for more info!

google news auto-suggest
Google auto Suggest has been available from a very long time in the Google web search, image search, and is the video search and now its available on the Google News search page too.

In the image I tried to search for ‘technology’ and it shows some prominent results about what I was looking for right in the search bar. Try it out yourself at the Google news site.

Spice up the way you work with forms and how you feel using Google Docs

by teamgpt May 9, 2004

Google docs

Google has launched 70 themes for forms so you can add a little (or a lot of) color to your surveys and questionnaires. Some themes are basic colors schemes (like Blue, Espresso, or Rose) and others are fancier designs (like Picnic, Zen Spring, and Dusk).

Go on add them and have fun…. How you ask??
When you’re editing a form, click the Theme button to find the right theme and apply it to your form. One caveat: These themes will be visible to your respondents when they fill out the form online, not within email (like Gmail).

Good news for community owners, moderators – more control means more power!

by teamgpt May 9, 2004

orkut

Like many of you, a number of us on the orkut are proud owners of active communities on orkut. While we love to see the discussions and divergent opinions that often come up, there are definitely times when the passion of our community members becomes overwhelming. Members sometimes start flame wars – creating new topics or polls to get their point across on the community home page, topics list and polls list pages. This degrades the overall experience for the other community members and often leaves us searching for ways to keep things under control.

To help with this issue, Orkut engineers have developed a feature that does exactly that. Community owners now have access to a new setting: “only owner and moderators can create forum topics,” which they can turn on and off as they wish. If you want to give it a try, just go to the “edit profile” page of your community.

You can also try creating a few new forum topics like “Rant Room” or “Suggest new forum topics,” where community members can continue their discussions without affecting everyone else’s experience.

google adwords

Beta testing for the new AdWords interface has been expanded to an even larger number of advertisers. The new interface is now available to most active AdWords accounts in these languages:

* English   * Spanish  * French

* German  * Italian  * Dutch

* Hebrew  * Simplified Chinese

* Japanese  * Brazilian  *Portuguese

If your account has been added to the beta test, you’ll be directed to the new interface the next time you log in. The previous interface will still be available if you need it: during the beta you can switch back and forth using the “New Interface (Beta)” and “Previous Interface” links in the top corner of your account, next to your email address.
