by teamgpt May 9, 2009
written by teamgpt

Long time back, Chrome (Chromium for Linux) was in alpha testing… Now the developers have official Chromium builds for Mac and Linux available. I was able to install the Linux version and have it Tested.

So you can not even access the options and popups are not blocked. Either it’s because Ubuntu 9:04 with me virtually runs or is is really so: the option of the tabs is significantly improved. Thus, over the whole width of third in pixel wide lines and drive over to appear white hatchings:

Here are some more screenshots:

If you wanna test yourself, here are the newest version for Linx and here for the Mac. For Mac you need at least Leopard.
Stay tuned for more updates…. You can grab the RSS feed here to stay updates!!

POWER TIP

New Search Options on search results

We recently announced Search Options, a new feature in Google Web

Search. You can now slice and dice your search results using a variety

of filters, which generate different views of your results page to

more easily and quickly find what you need. To try it out, click the

“Show options…” link on top of your search results to display the

Search Options panel. Watch this short video to learn more.

NEW PRODUCTS & UPDATES

Import mail and contacts to Gmail

You can now easily migrate existing email and contacts from Hotmail,

Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail and other webmail providers into Gmail. Imported

emails will be appropriately sorted by date, and existing folders will

become labels. You can have your messages forwarded from your old

account for 30 days, giving you time to take Gmail for a test drive.

This new feature is available in all newly-created Gmail accounts, and

it is slowly being rolled out to all existing accounts. You’ll know

it’s available in your account when you see the “Accounts and Import”

tab under Settings.

The bells and whistles behind Google Search

We put together two series of videos giving you a closer look at

various features of Google Search. The first is a set of 15-second

tips on how to check the weather, get the latest sports scores, find

word definitions, and more. In the second series, our search engineers

get up close and personal, sharing stories about the features they’ve

created and the challenges they face in making Google Search better.

lot of JavaScript now load about 30% faster than in the previous

stable version, thanks to improvements to V8 and an updated version of

WebKit. We’ve also fixed hundreds of bugs and made changes in response

to many of your top requests, including full screen mode, ability to

remove thumbnails from the new tab page, autofill and more.

MISCELLANEOUS

You may already know that we’re real believers in the power of data-

driven decisions. If you have information based on your website’s

traffic patterns, you can learn what people like best (or least) about

your site, ad campaigns or video — and use that information to make

your product better and attract more consumers. Being able to measure

the success of different strategies can help you more efficiently use

your resources to the maximum effect — no small thing in this economic

climate. But even on blogs or small sites, you can use data to improve

a great deal, like designing a better webpage or producing a

compelling YouTube video. Google offers a variety of tools that can

help you harness the power of measurement to be more successful with

your online business or product. To help you out, we’re collecting

tips and tricks for how to use Google Analytics, Website Optimizer and

other measurement tools in an ongoing series of posts on the Official

Google Blog. Here’s to the metrics!

Hidden Blogger features that you never knew exist!

by teamgpt May 9, 2009
written by teamgpt
wordpress to bloggersharethiscomment and label feeds

Recently Google introduced a feature to undelete a blog from blogger and now I wanted to help more bloggers with some useful information about the tools that you never knew before… Its kinda there but you don’t know about it… atleast not yet :) Here are some hidden blogger tools \ features that you never knew before…

Most of the features are not inside blogger but there are other services which indirectly help blogger become more useful and handy!!

Importing blogs from Wordpress to Blogger:

Google does not offer this feature directly within the Blogger User Interface, a handy little service called Wordpress2Blogger (which is hosted on App Engine) will help you convert your Wordpress blog into a Blogger blog. Then from your dashboard, click “Import” to import the converted file.

How wordpress2blogger works?

  1. First you export the blog from wordpress
  2. And then go to wordpress2blogger convertor tool, which is hosted on Google app engine,
  3. Browse the file and convert it to blogger format
  4. Now login to your blogger account at http://blogger.com
  5. Go to the Create a blog page and click on Import Blog
  6. After completing the import wizard you should have a set of imported posts from wordpress in your blogger and now you publish them to the world!!
  7. Have fun!! :)

Feeds for labels:

Do you want all the feeds from your labels? This can be done easily using the following URL structure:

http://[BLOGNAME].blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default/-/[LABELNAME]

Example: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default/-/mobile

Feeds for Comments:

Want only the comments feed? You can get the comments, with the following URL:

http://[BLOGNAME].blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default

Example: http://adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default

ShareThis widget for Blogger:

The ShareThis widget can be added easily from their website, which supports Blogger blogs.

Have a safe and happy blogging :)
