Use Greasemonkey scripts in Google Chrome beta

by teamgpt November 9, 2009
written by teamgpt

chrome_logo

With the release of Google Chrome 4.0.237.0 it includes support for scripts using Greasemonkey and it has been firmly integrated into the browser. Now to install scripts you don’t need a command line in Chrome. The User.js files automatically can be added as an extension.

For example: If you call one of the userscripts from userscripts.org Google Chrome will download the script and then open the same dialog as and when installing extensions. After confirmation, the script is installed and activated on Google chrome.

Note: This only works on Google Chrome version 4.0.237.0.

GeoCities is now officially closed – R.I.P

by teamgpt October 9, 2009
written by teamgpt

Finally, Yahoo! GeoCities, a web hosting service founded by David Bohnett and John Rezner in late 1994 and later acquired by Yahoo! in 1999, will be closing down on Oct. 26. The 15-year-old service, which offers surfers a space to set up their own, personalized homepage, was once a very popular platform before the launch of Google’s Blogger and open source content management platform just like Wordpress is closing down silently.

yahoo geo cities RIP

If you look at the Yahoo help center and search for ‘Why is Geo cities is closing‘, this is what Yahoo has to say:

“We have enjoyed hosting web sites created by Yahoo! users all over the world, and we’re proud of the community you’ve built.

However, we have decided to focus on helping our customers explore and build relationships online in other ways. Beginning on October 26, 2009, you will no longer be able to use GeoCities to maintain a free presence online — but we’re excited about the other services we have designed to help you connect with friends and family and share your activities and interests. “

The recent traffic stats from compete.com show that the site has not been doing so well and has been dying all year long. Here is a traffic generation report according to compete.com:

geocities traffic report

There are lots of other Website creation and hosting services out there, including blog platforms such as Wordpress, Blogger, and Typepad, Blog.com as well as Website creation and hosting services such as Ning, Weebly, and many more. GeoCities never really kept up with the times, but always remained a decent pageview generator.
R.I.P GeoCities!

Google Social Search: Details and Screenshots

by teamgpt October 9, 2009
written by teamgpt

Marissa Mayer, VP Search Products & User Experience at Google, announced a few weeks ago a Google Social Search will be introduced; this new project launched will be a Google Labs experiment. With Social Search is information created by your contacts integrated into the Google search engine. An example was given with a search for “United States”. It then delivers regular search results with content of friends between them as one Gmail message that refers to a FriendFeed update of another friend.

Before Social Search can be used you would need to have a Google user account and a Google profile (available, as it must be public) people are available in Google Contacts.

While the complete details of the search are still hidden, here is what we currently know (and we’re still updating, so bookmark and come back for more information):

– The bottom of search results will soon have social networking information from your friends, like their Flickr photos or their status updates. It’s blended search integration, similar to seeing news or image results.

– These are pulled from social networks connected to your Google Profile. The more that are connected, the more social information that will appear in search results.

– They have also improved searching for images using social networks. Images become more relevant using social networking data.

– It will be initially launch in Google Labs in the next few weeks.

UPDATE:

On Flickr there is a screenshot posted of Google Social Search. The picture shows that between the results, displaying results from your “social circle”. Two results are being shown, both of FriendFeed.

While half of the announcement was made by Marissa Mayer, Yesterday was the message that Microsoft has signed an agreement with Twitter. Following them now Google has an agreement signed with the micro-blogging service.

This means that as this is the case for any Bing tweets available to Google and diving so soon the messages in the search results. This way you can quickly search for current information.

For example: If you want to know how the weather in a given place you get to see tweets from people who are there at that time.

Farmville cheat codes\hacks

by teamgpt October 9, 2009
written by teamgpt

According to Inside facebook, farmville is the fastest growing application on facebook. Lot of people have been asking me how I reached level 30 so fast on farmville. Well, you guessed it right. I tried some of my own cheat codes to harvest, plow and seed faster.

farmville cheats

Here are some of the hacks that I would like to share:

1. Speedup harvesting\plowing and seeding process.

I was quiet bored of playing the game because harvesting and planting takes a lot of my time. So I made an experiment on the farm. Then, I realized that when you trap your character it will speed up the process. The time taken when the character is walking from one field to the other is saved.

This really helped me a lot in taking care of my farm and saves a lot of my time. I hope this will also help my Farmville neighbors and everyone who is on the game.

2. Become a Master farmer fast .

Instead of buying animals and trees from the Market Place, you only need to add neighbors and these neighbors can send these items as gift to you for free. But you also need to return back the same by sending one also. And when your animals counter reaches 100% you can now collect eggs, milk, wool and other items which you can sell for coins. Harvest your trees to gain additional coins. When your trees counter also reaches 100% then you can also collect various types of fruits that can also be sell for coins. Make sure also to visit your neighbors regularly and assisting your neighbors will their daily chores will give you a valuable experience points and coins.

3. Increase your coins.

I’ve just found a bug on farmville that will give you an unlimited amount of experience points.. but i suggest you hurry as as soon as zynga realise they’ll fix it!.. just click on a friends icon and click ‘visit/help friends farm’ then when your friends farm has loaded it will ask you to click ‘accept’ to help.. DON’T press accept, instead click on the same friends icon AGAIN and click ‘visit/help friend farm’ AGAIN.. this will reload the same friends farm.. repeat this process.. what this does is not only reload the friends farm again, it will reload the ‘accept help’ box again creating a backlog!! when you’ve done this for maybe 20 times (you can do it as many times as you want!) there will be 20 ‘accept’ boxes waiting for you to press!! each giving you 5exp each time!! REMEMBER use this reloading process on 1 friends farm at a time.. and only press ‘accept’ when you have reloaded the desired number of times.. 20 for example.. pluss you get 20 coins EACH time!!

4. The Soyabean trick.

To start this FarmVille cheat that really works, plow your 10 plots and buy soybeans. It will cost 150 coins to plow and 150 coins to plant soybeans, but delete those plot using the shovel tool immediately after seeds have been planted.

You may think, why should you delete those plots in order to gain experience level points?Because, plowing and planting soybeans will gain you 30 points on those 10 plots. You can repeat this cheat process, each time it will cost 300 FarmVille coins in order plow and plant, then delete using the shovel. You will see your FarmVille experiences quickly rising and coming closer to the next level.

5.Use External application to help you farm.

Yep, there are some application that help you farm faster and automatically. The most common ones are Farm helper and RS clicker. Google them and download the one which shows on the top Google result. These tools can automatically harvest\plow\seed for you. All you have to do is open farmville and run the application.

Watch a Farmville cheat video perhaps?

UPDATE: Improved Farmville BOT is here; More farmville cheats

Do you know or use any other farmville hacks? share it by posting your comments below!
