Google AdWords has a new Interface in beta testing stage

by teamgpt March 9, 2010
written by teamgpt

Google adwards

Back in November, Google had asked a small group of U.S. advertisers to start testing a new web interface for AdWords while it was still early in development. Now Google is back with a new blog post which says “Beta expansion: Try the new AdWords interface”…

Here are a few of the exciting features Google is testing:

  • Performance graphs: Spot trends over time with custom graphs on every campaign management page.
  • Insight across ad groups: Focus on the high-impact areas of your account with new roll-up tabs on every page. You can see and edit keywords, placements or ads from all ad groups on a single tab.
  • In-line editing: Want to change a keyword or bid? Click on it and make changes in-line instead of loading a separate page.
  • Easier content network management: Improve content network performance through a new Networks tab. Look at statistics for the placements where your ads have appeared, and then take action by setting unique bids or excluding placements directly from the report.

To learn more, see videos of the new interface in action, and sign up for the beta, visit the  new AdWords interface website.

More Chrome like features in FireFox 4

by teamgpt February 10, 2010
written by teamgpt

As you people already know, Firefox is currently working on its 4th prototype version of its Firefox browser. We have seen some images of the design, through which we could see some new changes implemented. Now two videos have been leaked that give us new insights into the Firefox  interface specifically show how they might work.

firefox
One of the most talked features of Firefox 4 is that it supports HTML 5 even better and the support of animated tabs just like Google chrome.

Here is a picture on how the tabs open, in an animated style.

So,, if you try creating a new tab, it just appears out of nowhere with a slide from right to left. When you drag the tab from one place to another the tab will rest in the same place to make room for repositioning of the tab.

Well there is lot to learn about the new browser, but because of these leaks, we can get an idea of  what awaits us.

Google’s Fake Big sister – ‘Goojje’ in China

by teamgpt January 10, 2010
written by teamgpt

We’ve been closely tracking the Google – China Cold war. It looks like the piracy giant, notorious country has taken piracy & copying to a whole new level.

Google shared information about a “highly targeted and sophisticated attack” on their corporate infrastructure that occurred last month. The attack originated in China and resulted in the “theft of intellectual property from Google.” In light of the attack Google is making sweeping changes to its Chinese operations.

There is also an interesting take on foreignpolicy.com, showing that these attacks were mainly planned on the market share of the company. When Google announced its further steps to move out of china, the China – hosted companies earned more revenue\market share according the the foreign policy site.

The Chinese version of the site had been quickly gaining market share against homegrown competitors Youku and Tudou. State news agency Xinhua said that the root cause of the blockage was a video showing Tibetans being beaten by zealous police officers.

goojje the fake google

Coming back to the China piracy & counterfeiting goods, one group in China has taken the imitation act to a whole new level. The world’s most popular search engine, Google, now has a copycat in China called Goojje.

The name Goojje is a play on words. The last syllable in “gu-jie” is the Chinese word for “older sister.” While the last syllable in Google—“gu-ge” in Chinese—sounds like the character for “older brother.”

The site was launched just one day after Google threatened to leave China over censorship disputes.

Visit the site: Goojje.com…

Goojje’s founder says their search engine was created to promote peace, and to urge Google to stay in China. :) wow… now that’s called making money out of someone else’s pocket instantly :)

Here is a video:

What are your comments on the Google – Goojje story? how do you think google should react to this issue?

Search Megaupload and Rapidshare links using Google

by teamgpt January 10, 2010
written by teamgpt

google megaupload and rapidshare

We’ve all heard about these two free hosting services and they are extremely popular on the Internet. Any user can store photographs, text or songs, videos or share files instantly. They use a very simple system or sharing \ distributing. All we need to download a file from rapidshare or megaupload is a simple link but how do we find them in the database?.

These websites are not search engines so we have to find other ways to find videos, music or any other type of file uploaded by anonymous users. Lets discuss on how to find these files using Google,

The trick is simple:

If we want to find something in Megaupload, type in Google: “filename” + site: megaupload.com

If instead we want to find a Rapidshare file, we have to put Google: “filename” + site: rapidshare.com

Just change the text quoted by the keyword of the file you’re looking for, be it a band, a movie, a ebook or anything else.

You can also search by file extensions, writing something like this: “filename” + inurl: mp3 site: megaupload.com

In “file name” you know what to do. Simply change the extension from mp3 to rar, zip, avi, mpg, ogg, exe, or whatever you want. Do you have more Google search tricks? Share them below!
