Google Search Solution, Google India has launched the SMS search service, where you can SMS the Google number with and get results back via sms.
The sms costs you (Rs 2 or whatever is the rate for national sms for your provider). This is a big+ because you dont have to pay for premium sms as you would have to do if you used other shortcodes.

How do you search? The number to remember (or to add to your contacts) for google search is:

Send your query as sms to this number and you will get a reply containing the results. Here is a sample reply which you would get if you search for “weather delhi”. There are special searches for trains, cricket scores and similar stuff.You can find some example queries and other details  on the google mobile page.

Twitter today announced that it would fix the followers count issue and is also kicking some spammers’ off twitter…

“As a consequence of this, follower counts will drop for some people. In particular, those with large followings may see significant changes as we correct for spam accounts and data inconsistencies. No legitimate followings should be affected—we’re just cleaning up artifacts in the system”, says twitter on its twitter status blog..
Twitter is finally taking some action against all those spammers’ account that were just following you all these days, trying to sell you some Viagra or any other product.. Good job twitter!!

Google has always been excited to introduce design flair and user experience, especially on the homepage. Be it through our special holiday Doodle logos or special themes for iGoogle users. Today, new comics themes for iGoogle, just in time for Comic-Con’s 40th anniversary.

The themes showcase the amazingly diverse world of comics. Browse the gallery (www.google.com/comicsthemes) to choose from nostalgic comic strips like Peanuts, iconic heroes like Batman and Iron Man, or alternative comics greats like Dan Clowes, author of the graphic novel, “Ghost World.” The dozens of themes represent talented artists from around the world including Rumiko Takahashi from Japan and Lewis Trondheim of France.

Ever wondered where the users came from? What country? Male or female users? Total views of my video? And what is my video rating? … It’s all available in Youtube insights now!!

All this info, was not shown by Youtube to the rest of the general population, but not any more. By switching it on in the privacy settings for your videos (located under “My Account”) you can now share this data with everyone. It’ll become visible in the “Statistics & Data” section, located under the video.

Besides the number of total views, comments, ratings and average ratings, one can also find out a list of top ten referrals, gender/age audience distribution, and popularity of the video in various parts of the world. Not bad for a free tool, especially for journalists and analysts who will now be able to gather some more data about a particular video (if the option is switched on, of course).
