One of the things I’ve always considered the most valuable on Facebook was the fact that it did not allow applications to access users email address via applications. After enabling the option to respond to comments by e-mail – the developers have changed their minds.

The fact, now the applications can access e-mail. How will these changes impact users?
– Applications (Apps) can now send out newsletters to fans of Facebook at all sites that use Facebook Connect (which is huge),
– Spamming systematically can send mails to a huge database.
Apart from changes in the API, this affects mostly the developers. This new change is totally NOT appreciated due to the fact that it introduces a system that permits individual users email address and its not automatic.
Lets see if my inbox fills up with spam :( if it does, i’m heading over to the deletion page of Facebook and changing my email address too(which I hate)!!
