muziic: a new website which makes the best use of api to play songs – innovative ideas

by teamgpt March 9, 2016
written by teamgpt

Muziic is a new media player. Unlike iTunes, Foobar2000 or Windows Media Player, the player has no local library. All titles, songs and videos; the player plays originate from Google servers for YouTube.

In a search it gives you the title and Muziic lists all the results from YouTube. You can then add the videos to a playlist and play it together. Optionally, you can also go to the persons YouTube account and this playlist is then stored online. To do so, one needs a free account with Muziic.

Muziic relies on the YouTube API. The player cannot play if the video is not on the youtube servers.
Matt Rosoff, an analyst for Directions on Microsoft, wrote about Muziic Saturday, March 7th on his “Digital Noise” CNET blog. CNET Senior Writer Greg Sandoval broke the story the next day, leading to a swarm of publicity and media interest.

Within only two short weeks after our “unofficial launch” on February 25th, 2009, Muziic has been covered on CNET, CNN, CBS News, The Huffington Post, Ars Technica, Billboard, Yahoo, Wired, and more.

Muziic has been featured on the homepages of internet giants Download.com and Baixaki.com.br. Since our launch, we’ve been covered in many print, audio, video and web publications.

“We encourage people to leverage the power of our open API to embed YouTube videos in creative and innovative ways that comply with our terms of service,” a Google spokesperson told CNET News when asked about Muziic.

YouTube applauded Muziic co-founder David Nelson for coming up with the idea for Muziic, Greg Sandoval told the CNET Daily Podcast on Friday. However, Muziic and Google are still working out the details for Muziic to better suit their service.

Mark Nelson, CEO and co-founder of Muziic said, “We feel that YouTube now has a better understanding of Muziic’s intentions for creating a YouTube-powered music site, and we have a much greater feel for what YouTube would like out of a music service driven by their API,”. .

Well, with all the good and positive feedback that Muziic has been receiving, we need to wait and see the future direction of Muziic.

New Microsoft’s does an ad with kids “I’m a PC and I’m seven years old”; 7-year old Alexa makes panoramic photo

New Microsoft ad “I’m a PC and I’m seven years old”; 7-year old Alexa makes panoramic photo

Earlier this month, we saw an ad featuring, 4–1/2 year’s Kylie using Windows Live Photo Gallery to make a picture of her pet fish Dorothy “better,” then send it off to her mom and dad.

If you missed it, here it is again:

A new Microsoft ad now shows seven year old Alexa, who snaps some photos of her “home-made fort”, creates a panoramic photo in Windows Live Photo Gallery, and then print it out. The ad finishes with Alexa saying, “I’m a PC and I’m seven years old.”

Well it is kids who change the world around you :)

[Data visualization] Facebook Connections Map

by teamgpt December 10, 2015
written by teamgpt

How are friends connected on Facebook? Facebook intern, paul buttler has created an image that shows you the facebook friend connections worldwide based on cities, the number of friend connections in them.

When you have a social graph data of 500 million people, there are many ways you can look at them.
facebook connections map
{Click on the image to view full size}

The creator paul says:

Defined the importance of each pair of cities as a function of the Euclidean distance between them and the number of friends among them. Then I drew lines between pairs of importance, so that pairs of cities with more friends among them were drawn over others. The color scale goes from black to blue to white, each line with the color corresponding to their weight. Also transformed lines to fit in the picture, rather than lengthen them all over the map.

The image, besides being spectacular, it also gives us an idea of how friendships are spreading throughout the world, including oceans.

Fishville Cheat Codes \ Hacks

by teamgpt December 9, 2015
written by teamgpt

Zyngya is getting on my nerves :). With my previous posts on Farmville cheat codes & Cafe world Cheats, lots of people are requesting me to write some Fishville cheats \ hacks. So here is my take on the Fishville cheat codes… Enjoy!!!

Before you start, please download the Cheat Engine 5.5 here:

Cheat Engine 5.5 Download

Some of the hacks ONLY work with the cheat engine. Once you’ve installed the cheat engine continue reading the step-by-step guide to cheat and hack FishVille.

Coins \ Money Cheat

This Fishville cheat guide will explain how to get lots of Fishville money \ coins using Cheat Engine 5.5! Hurry and try this cheat as this is still new and works, so do it while it’s not patched :D.

Here is how:

  1. Login to Facebook Fishville using Firefox browser.
  2. Open your Cheat Engine 5.5 and select Firefox as your process.
  3. Make a “First Scan” in Cheat Engine 5.5 with the value of the total coins you currently have (let’s say 100).
  4. Spend some coins in Fishville to reduce the amount of your coins, go back to Cheat Engine and perform a 2nd scan for the value of the coins you now have after spending some.
  5. Repeat this until you are down to one or a couple of addresses, when one of these addresses represents your coins in-game
  6. Change the value of the address to anything you want and freeze it. Now you will see this value is applied to your coins in Fishville!

Unlimited Gifts cheat:

Currently, Facebook FishVille limits you on how often you can send free gifts to your neighbors.   “Read More” to continue to the short guide on how to perform this Fishville trick.

This is not a Facebook Fishville hack, and you don’t need any program to do this! Here is a guide on ‘how to send multiple free gifts from Fishville’:

  1. When you’re in Fishville.
  2. Right click over the “Free Gifts” button and choose to open the link in a new browser tab.
  3. You should repeat the #2nd step and open up as many browser tabs as you’d like, depending on how many gifts you wish to send.
Now, let’s say we opened 3 browser tabs.
  4. Simply go to each of your browser tabs (start from the first) and select which gifts you wish to send. It’s important that you don’t click the “Proceed to Send” button while choosing your gifts.
  5. After that’s done, go to the 1st browser tab and click the “Proceed to Send” button. Do the same thing on all other opened browser tabs.
  6. Go to each browser tab and select the Fishville Friends to send the gifts. (Again) It’s important that you don’t click the “Send Fishville Gift Request” button yet.
  7. Upon completing the previous step, you can now go to the 1st browser tab and click the “Send Fishville Gift Request” button. Do the same thing on all other opened browser tabs.
  8. When finished the above steps, go back to the 1st tab of your browser. You will probably see the Fishville gift request, with the option to click on “Send“. Click the “Send” button and you are done.

Now that you’ve sent as many gifts as you want, you can close all other tabs and continue playing and enjoying the game!

Got more Fishville cheats? post your comments below and share :D….

goo.gl a URL shortening service by Google

by teamgpt December 9, 2015
written by teamgpt

Some common URL shortening services are bit.ly and tinyurl.com. Initially, goo.gl is not a stand-alone service as bit.ly BUT is only available from the Google Toolbar and Feed Burner.

Google URL Shortener at goo.gl is a service that takes long URLs and squeezes them into fewer characters to make a link that is easier to share, tweet, or email to friends. The core goals of this service are:

  • Stability – ensuring that the service has very good uptime
  • Security – protecting users from malware and phishing pages
  • Speed – fast resolution of short URLs

Google says:

Google URL Shortener is currently available for Google products and not for broader consumer use.

You can find the new shortening service being implemented in the Google Toolbar and In Feedburner for now.

A new Key factor in the Google Page ranking algorithm revealed

by teamgpt November 9, 2015
written by teamgpt

search engine game

Matt Cutts from Google said there are strong chances of Google introducing a new ranking factor into the search result algorithm. The new ranking factor has to do with ‘how fast a site or page loads?’.

Matt explained that page speed is a factor in search ad AdWords quality score and there’s currently a strong push to make it a factor in organic ranking algorithm.

Keeping 2 things in mind:

(1) There are over 200 ranking factors in the algorithm and each are weighted differently. If I had to guess, page speed would not be a tremendously weighed factor, unless the site takes 90 seconds to load.

(2) Monitoring complaints from the AdWords (and organic) side of webmasters and virtually no one complains that their quality score is low because of having a slow site. I would have to assume the same speed criteria would be applied from the quality score page speed requirements to the organic side of things. So if advertisers rarely, if never, complain about it – one would assume non-advertisers would also not complain much about that as a reason for their site’s poor ranking. This makes lot of sense for advertisers to advertise on faster loading websites than on slowly loading websites.

p.s. If you are web developer\designer and code\design all your blog pages by yourself, there is a tool called page speed, which is used by Google to test its own page loading speed. It’s a Firefox extension which can be used with firebug. If you are interested, you can grab yourself the plug-in from here.

Google chrome download page in brazil has an orkut screenshot

by teamgpt October 9, 2015
written by teamgpt

Google Chrome‘s homepage for Brazil has a screenshot that shows a new orkut interface. Google decided to use some ideas from services like Twitter, FriendFeed, Facebook and make it easy to post messages and to see the messages posted by your friends.

Here is the screenshot:
brazil google chrome page

I wonder if this is because most of the Orkut users are from Brazil and India. Orkut’s popularity in Brazil and India is probably the only reason why Google didn’t discontinue the orkut service.
