Google Doodle: Esperanto

by teamgpt December 9, 2016
written by teamgpt

google doodle esperanto

Esperanto (help·info) is the most widely spoken constructed international auxiliary language. Its name derives from Doktoro Esperanto, the pseudonym under which L. L. Zamenhof published the first book detailing Esperanto, the Unua Libro, in 1887. The word esperanto means “one who hopes” in the language itself. Zamenhof’s goal was to create an easy and flexible language that would serve as a universal second language to foster peace and international understanding. Esperanto has had continuous usage by a community estimated at between 100,000 and 2 million speakers for over a century, and approximately one thousand native speakers. However, no country has adopted the language officially. Today, Esperanto is employed in world travel, correspondence, cultural exchange, conventions, literature, language instruction, television and radio broadcasting. At least one major search engine, Google, offers searching of Esperanto-related websites via an Esperanto portal.

How to avoid your photos from being advertised on Facebook?

by teamgpt August 9, 2016
written by teamgpt

On Facebook lot of people are complaining about FB’s policy to allow their advertisers use your private images for FB ads. Facebook was always inventive with their advertising system. They were the first to let people thumb up or down ads and now they want to make their ads be part of your online life.

Here is how Facebook explains the system:

“Facebook occasionally pairs advertisements with relevant social actions from a user’s friends to create Facebook Ads. Facebook Ads make advertisements more interesting and more tailored to you and your friends. These respect all privacy rules. You may opt out of appearing in your friends’ Facebook Ads.”

Nobody can blame them for trying to monetize the site, but the question is has this gone too far? I feel that it may be confusing for my friends to see me on a matrimony Ad or a dating Ad. They may think I’m promoting something on FB and in fact I’m not. Thankfully Facebook gives you an option to opt out from adverts. Here is how:

  1. Click on SETTINGS at the right hand top
  1. Select PRIVACY, Then select NEWSFEEDS and WALL.
  1. Select the tab that reads FACEBOOK ADS.
  1. In the drop down box, select NO ONE. Then SAVE your changes.

What do you feel about this? Are you okay being advertised on Facebook? Post your comments below and let us know. And if you liked this post feel free to subscribe via RSS or email, or follow me on Twitter. :)

What’s more, with this new version there are some new improved features. For example, from now users will be able to synchronize bookmarks between computers using Chrome browser preferences, and also sync small information such as homepage, default language, etc..

The stable version supports HTML5 incorporated features such as drag and drop files, geolocation APIs … Now there is HTML5 does not mean that they have forgotten to Flash Player> Google Chrome will soon fully support Adobe Flash Player 10.1.

What If? Browsers were Women

by teamgpt May 10, 2016
written by teamgpt

if browsers were women

If browsers were women then

  • Firefox is the woman who fills your memory! And even if it makes you mad, men have a hard time leaving!
  • Opera is slim, sexy and tough! It is entirely up to you if you like that kind of woman. In bed she is doing very well and you enjoy his performance. Full satisfaction is not guaranteed.
  • Safari is a bomb. You feel really good with it. However, we must know something that can be frustrating to her, she brings with her without her iFriends ask.
  • Chrome is very thin but very cool and friendly. But in bed, she is inexperienced and has little to offer … Forget the Kamasutra, the missionary is what you can expect!
  • Internet Explorer is, for many, the first woman he met / tested. It is easy but you can be infected.

Obviously, the only thing we need to re-look is about Internet Explorer. With the latest IE8, the infection count sure has gone down!

GeeMail, a Desktop Client for Gmail

by teamgpt March 10, 2016
written by teamgpt

GeeMail is a client for the popular free e-mail from Google, Gmail. GeeMail supports the good old UI of gmail itself. The software runs under Adobe AIR, which ensures constant updates of your InBox and other assets, such as running on multiple operating systems and offline support.

The program has a similar interface like Gmail, which eliminates the common ‘how do I’ questions. GeeMail has everything in place which is required to access your email from Gmail. You don’t need to configure POP and IMAP settings like traditional email clients.  However, it lacks service settings and Gtalk, widely used by Gmail users.

Here’s the direct link (.exe) to download Geemail.
