Ping or Update Services are tools that you can use to let other people know you’ve updated your blog (or in simple words, its just notifying sites, and letting them know that you have new content on your Website).
WordPress automatically notifies popular Update Services that you’ve updated your blog by sending a XML-RPC ping each time you create or update a post. In turn, Update Services process the ping and updates their proprietary indices with your update. Now people browsing sites like Technorati or Sphere can find your most recent posts easily!
So I’ve put together a list of popular ping shot URL’s that we can add to our Wordpress for better crawling of the content.

How to add Pings (Update services) in wordpress??
If you want the update services to be pinged, add all the update service URIs listed above in your wordpress admin, on the “Options->Writing” administration screen of your WordPress installation. Check the sites below and enter your site details to ping.
