If You’re like me and have deactivated Buzz in Gmail but still feeling uneasy about the idea of being able to communicate with your friends from your mailbox Gmail, here is a solution.
A person called David Mulder has developed an Chrome extension which allows you to add Facebook to your Gmail navigation with an interface very similar to Google Buzz.
From the screenshots above, once you install this add-in Gmail adds a new submenu called Facebook, from which you can access the info from social networks and see what people are posting on FB. You can also update your facebook status directly from Gmail.
There is also a Greasemonkey script for Firefox to add Facebook to Gmail, once you install it the facebook tab starts showing right below Google Buzz.
