Facebook has more than 350million users and now the competition gets harder. So here is one way Facebook is trying to overcome the pressure.
Facebook announced its new Toolbar for Internet explorer and Firefox 3.0+. From what i’ve heard the Facebook Toolbar extension was initially reserved only for Firefox users to access Facebook without having to open the Facebook page..
Today, Facebook confirmed the toolbar for Internet Explorer is compatible with version 6+ and Firefox 3.0+. The download is already available from the Facebook application page.
Regardless of the browser, the toolbar now supports Facebook’s 16 languages including Arabic, Chinese (simple and traditional), Danish, Dutch, German, Spanish (Spain and international), French, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Swedish and Turkish.
More reason to try it, also considering the possibility of integrating the notifications dock with OS X.
No matter where you are on the web, you can stay close and share with your friends through the Facebook Toolbar. Originally launched in English for the Firefox browser, we now have released an Internet Explorer version of the toolbar and made both versions available in a total of 16 languages.
Get Notified:
Icons on the toolbar tell you how many new pokes, friend requests, messages, and invitations you have.
Enable a pop-up notification for when friends update their statuses and profiles, upload new photos, write new notes, or interact with you on Facebook.
Share Links and Photos:
The Share button lets you share the page that you are currently browsing by sending it to friends or posting it to your profile.
A handy photo uploader lets you upload photos to Facebook directly from your desktop using the toolbar.
You can use the toolbar to easily visit the most common sections and applications on Facebook, including your home page, profile and Inbox. You also can see how many friend requests, Inbox message and event and group invitations you have from icons near the top of your browser, and then click to view them.
