The online photosharing site turns 6years today… Here is a heartly happy birthday to Flickr!
This day in 2004, a Vancouver company called Ludicorp created this photo sharing service. Today it has become the largest social network dedicated to snapshots. Flickr by Yahoo, celebrates six years today. The system allows you to store, share and search Flickr images by tags, date and Creative commons license attribute for all users.
In November 2008, Flickr hosted more than three billion images. Every minute there are about 5,000 images added to Flickr. Although data are a little older, we used to see the success of this network that competes mainly with Picasa from Google.
At present Google has indexed about two hundred and ninety billion images from Flickr alone.
