Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in held on April 22, 1970.
The first Earth Day was a major environmental event in the U.S. designed to shake the political establishment and force the integration of environmental issues on the national agenda.
Subsequently, this event led to the creation of the agency to protect the U.S. Environmental (EPA) and the adoption of the law “Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species.”
Since 1990, Earth Day has become a global event, and there are over 500 million people in 184 countries are taking action through the day. The Earth Day has become participatory event environmentalist the largest in the world.
